The response from shops and businesses in Penistone, and from stall-holders at Penistone Farmers’ market has been overwhelmingly positive: nearly every shop in the area is keen to support a reduction in the use of plastic bags. Each shop is doing this in a different way, to suit their own business - some hiding bags out of sight, some re-using supermarket carriers and many displaying the Penistone Carry-A-Bag card or sticker.
